At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, Humetrix is set to showcase an innovative AI voice technology aimed at enhancing communication between global travellers and healthcare providers. The event, renowned for showcasing cutting-edge technology, is particularly significant given the complexities of managing health services during large-scale international gatherings, where attendees come from diverse linguistic backgrounds and medical systems.

The challenge of ensuring seamless healthcare access during major global events was notably highlighted during the organisation of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, which is anticipated to host over 10 million visitors and 15,000 athletes from more than 150 countries, all speaking approximately 25 different languages. According to CNET, event organisers recognised the need for an efficient mechanism to tackle diverse health concerns, ranging from language translation to safely cross-referencing medications that vary by country.

Dr. Bettina Experton, leading the efforts at Humetrix, developed a solution during the Olympics that leverages generative AI through a mobile application. This application allows international visitors to seek medical assistance at venues spread throughout Paris, as well as at over 20,000 affiliated physicians and hospitals. Users can scan a QR code, enter their medical history in their native language, and select their medications from a comprehensive global list, with the system translating this information into medical terminology useful for healthcare providers.

Humetrix’s app is supported by an extensive database comprising 4 million medications and vaccines worldwide, alongside information regarding 67,000 medical conditions linked to over 4,000 symptoms. This database is accessible in 25 languages, including English, French, Spanish, and Arabic, enabling doctors to provide appropriate treatments, irrespective of the patients' backgrounds or languages.

Data security is a priority for Humetrix, which ensures that no personally identifiable information is stored on the cloud. Instead, all health data is kept securely within the user's device. The firm has implemented strict confidentiality protocols that prevent the sharing of any health information with external monitoring systems.

At CES 2025, the company is set to advance its offerings through the introduction of voice-to-voice capabilities, which allow patients to communicate directly with healthcare providers. This technology interprets symptoms and medical history in real time, thereby eliminating the need for written communication and enhancing the efficiency of care delivery, particularly in high-pressure settings like emergency rooms. While this voice-to-voice technology has not been used at major public events like the Olympics to maintain privacy, it has proven effective in more controlled environments such as hospitals.

Additionally, the application integrates GPS technology to provide real-time translations based on the user's location, further facilitating accurate and efficient communication. This high-tech solution aims to cater to B2B sectors including healthcare providers, the travel industry, and global event organisers in order to address the complexities of healthcare on a universal scale.

As advancements in technologies like those developed by Humetrix continue to unfold, they promise to break down barriers in healthcare access, reflecting the increasingly interconnected nature of global health services.
