On July 31, Canadian biotechnology firm AbCellera announced an expansion of its collaboration with Eli Lilly and Company to uncover therapeutic antibodies for various medical conditions, including immunology, cardiovascular disease, and neuroscience. Although the devastating pandemic adversely impacted most markets, biotechnology boomed worldwide.”

The impact of the pandemic has catalysed innovation in numerous domains of biotechnology, such as forensic science, regenerative medicine, agricultural biotechnology, and manufacturing sustainable bioplastics. A recent report from Grand View Research valued the global biotechnology market at approximately $1.55 trillion in 2023, with expectations for it to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 13.96 percent through 2030.
