In a recent Board of Education meeting held on December 17, Nickles highlighted the growing trend among businesses to look for employees adept in AI applications, stating, “What we’re seeing in the marketplace is companies like Walmart, J.B. Hunt, Tyson, they want people who are efficient in AI tools or resources because they think that those people are going to be more productive.” This emphasis on AI skill sets aligns with findings from the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2023, which ranks AI and machine learning specialists among the most rapidly growing roles. To facilitate this knowledge transfer, the Bentonville School District plans to form a committee comprising educators and stakeholders in early 2024.
