The Estée Lauder Companies announced plans to establish a biotechnology hub in Belgium to develop bio-based alternatives to traditional ingredients, integrating these innovations into their extensive product lines.

In alignment with ethical considerations, there has been a marked shift away from animal testing in cosmetics. The Humane Society has initiated training for scientists on Non-animal New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) as part of this movement.
