Singapore's ProfilePrint Secures Major Agreements with Brazilian Coffee Exporters
São Paulo, Brazil – Singapore-based ProfilePrint, a leading provider of coffee analysis, has inked agreements with two of Brazil's largest coffee exporters, Cooxupé and Minasul. The signings, which took place in São Paulo, underscore the company's commitment to enhancing coffee quality assessment through advanced technology.
Since its foundation in 2017, ProfilePrint has been at the forefront of using AI to develop digital fingerprinting and analysis solutions for food products. The company has attracted significant investment from key figures in agricultural trading, including Louis Dreyfus, Ofi, and Sucafina. The agreements with Cooxupé and Minasul, however, repeat ProfilePrint's most significant dealings yet.
Cooxupé, which exports over 6 million 60-kilo sacks of coffee annually, is considered Brazil's largest coffee exporter. Minasul, another giant in Brazil's coffee sector, boasts a robust membership of over 6,000 growers in the prime coffee-producing region of Minas Gerais. By partnering with such influential cooperatives, ProfilePrint is poised to make a substantial impact on the Brazilian coffee industry.
The deals follow months of fruitful collaboration with significant Brazilian coffee clients, focusing on the development of AI-driven detection for non-visual defects in green coffee samples. These defects, including early-stage mold, can compromise the quality of the coffee but may not be visible to the naked eye.
In addition to these agreements, ProfilePrint has introduced the fifth generation of its core green coffee analyzer, named Orca. This new machine captures the digital fingerprints of green coffee and sends the data to ProfilePrint's AI-powered quality analysis platform. The platform delivers insights into flavour profiles, overall quality, and blend recommendations, aiming to reduce dependence on manual coffee assessment tasks.
The signing ceremony was attended by ProfilePrint's Founder Alan Lai and Alvin Tan, head of Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, alongside leaders from the Brazilian cooperatives. ProfilePrint also secured an undisclosed deal with the Instituto CNA, Brazil’s esteemed agricultural and livestock research institute, further solidifying its foothold in the Brazilian market.
Looking ahead, ProfilePrint plans to launch its non-visual detection system (NVD) in early 2025. This system is expected to revolutionise how early-stage defects in coffee beans are detected, elevating quality control standards in the coffee industry.
