Veritas Technologies Enhances Cyber Resilience with AI-Driven Solutions
Veritas Technologies has unveiled a suite of new AI-driven capabilities designed to bolster its cyber resilience portfolio, offering significant enhancements to data protection and recovery processes for organisations worldwide.
Key Enhancements and Features
The latest updates from Veritas are concentrated on AI-powered automation and user interface improvements, which aim to support both data protection professionals and versatile IT generalists in achieving more efficient and reliable cyber recovery outcomes.
Geoffrey Coley, the Regional CTO for Asia Pacific at Veritas, provided insights into the evolving challenges of data security. "In the current macro landscape, data security is becoming increasingly complex, and IT teams are under mounting pressure to ensure that data is always available, with only limited resources," Coley stated. "That's why we're focused on making recovery simpler, smarter and faster. By strengthening cyber resilience capabilities with expanded AI assistance and intuitive management, we eliminate the guesswork and trial and error from the recovery process. Organisations can now bounce back from ransomware attacks quickly and confidently, minimising business disruption."
Advanced User Interface and AI-Driven Insights
A central focus of the enhancements is the Veritas Alta View platform, which now features an improved, highly intuitive user interface. These updates streamline navigation and operational efficiency, enabling both specialised IT personnel and generalists to manage tasks more effectively. The platform leverages AI-driven insights and provides a cyber risk score, offering real-time, actionable analytics that improve risk management and expedite recovery processes.
New visualisation tools are also part of the update, allowing users to comprehensively monitor their entire data estate. This proactive approach helps manage risks more efficiently and speeds up cyber recovery, mitigating the impacts of potential data breaches or cyberattacks.
Automation and Threat Detection
Veritas has introduced the Alta Copilot, a groundbreaking feature that automates asset audits and policy creation. This tool automatically scans for unprotected assets, recommends tailored protections, and integrates seamlessly with existing policies to ensure extensive data coverage.
In addition to automation, the speed of threat detection and response has been significantly improved. Veritas has incorporated hash-based malware tracking within backup data and blast radius analysis. Once malware is identified, these functionalities can reduce the time required for scanning and assessing its spread across data estates by up to 93%.
Automated Recovery Blueprints
An innovative addition to Veritas' offering is the interactive guide for creating, automating, testing, and editing recovery workflow plans. These automated recovery blueprints can be customised across various domains, including complex hybrid, platform-as-a-service, and container environments, offering tailored and effective risk mitigation strategies.
Proactive Recovery Point Recommendations
To further enhance recovery efficiency, Veritas has introduced automated recovery point recommendations. This feature relies on proactive, detailed analysis to propose optimal recovery points, significantly reducing recovery time and potential data loss. By eliminating the need for manual identification of the "last known good copy," organisations can restore operations more quickly. This functionality is supported by a robust risk engine analysis, minimising reliance on extensive and costly malware scans.
Availability
The Veritas Copilot features are set for release in October. Other new capabilities will be available via updates to Veritas NetBackup, Veritas Alta Data Protection, and Veritas Alta View beginning in September.
Veritas Technologies continues to lead the charge in advancing cyber resilience, leveraging AI innovations to meet the growing complexities of data security and recovery in today's digital landscape.
