Akhil Raphael Appointed as Technical Sales Manager for Audio-Technica Amid Growing AI Adoption in the Middle East
Dubai, UAE - Audio-Technica, the famed Japanese audio technology developer, has appointed Akhil Raphael as the new technical sales manager for the Middle East region. Raphael, bringing along a decade of experience in the audio industry focusing on technical support and sales, will collaborate with key end-users, design consultants, system integrators, and rental houses.
In his newly assigned role, Raphael is expected to strengthen Audio-Technica’s direct presence across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Furthermore, he will support Audio-Technica’s regional distribution partner, GSL Professional, by leveraging his comprehensive expertise to foster robust partnerships and deliver tailored audio solutions.
Raphael expressed his enthusiasm for the role, stating, "I am thrilled to join Audio-Technica and contribute to the company’s continued success in the Middle East. I look forward to leveraging my experience to build strong partnerships and deliver outstanding solutions that meet the diverse needs of our clients.”
Stephan Grawe, Managing Director of Audio-Technica EMEA Sales Division, remarked, “Audio-Technica is excited to welcome Akhil to the team. We anticipate that his expertise will significantly bolster our efforts to provide superior audio solutions and support throughout the GCC.”
This appointment comes at a time when the Middle East is experiencing a significant lead in the adoption of advanced technologies, notably artificial intelligence (AI), over their European counterparts. Recent findings from an extensive study conducted by Hays reveal that tech professionals in the Middle East are more inclined to utilise AI than those in Europe, with a higher percentage of organisations in the region offering AI training and support.
The Hays report, which included data from 5014 tech professionals and 6178 employers across 20 countries in the EMEA region, highlighted several key trends:
Usage of AI: 56% of tech professionals in the Middle East are utilising AI, a figure surpassing usage rates in any European country. In stark contrast, only 28% of tech professionals in Italy and 29% in France are using AI.
Perception and Efficiency: 68% of tech professionals in the GCC associate AI with increased productivity and efficiency, with 50% already utilising AI tools as communication assistants.
AI in Software Development: 66% of all software developers are using AI to aid in writing or debugging code.
Training Aspirations: AI is a crucial area that tech specialists aspire to develop, with 82% of all EMEA tech professionals desiring AI training. This aspiration peaks in the Netherlands (92%) and Spain (89%).
Employer Hesitancy: Despite the enthusiasm among tech professionals, only 30% of employers in the EMEA region are currently recommending the use of AI and 24% of tech professionals in the GCC have received training or support to adopt AI technologies. This figure, however, is higher than all European countries apart from the Netherlands (27%).
Oliver Kowalski, Regional Managing Director at Hays Middle East, commented on the findings saying, “Of course, AI has its risks, but it is here to stay, and those that embrace it will reap its rewards. This new data brings to light a competitive advantage for companies in the Middle East looking to hire developers, data and infrastructure professionals, cyber security talent, and other tech specialists. It shows these people’s thirst for AI training, for working on innovative projects with the latest iterations of technologies.”
As Akhil Raphael steps into his role within an environment ripe with technological advancements and a robust focus on AI, his appointment aligns with Audio-Technica’s vision to deliver cutting-edge audio solutions while fostering critical partnerships across the region.
