Crowe LLP Expands AI Center of Excellence, Aims to Pioneer AI Solutions for Clients

Chicago, 30th September 2024 — Crowe LLP, a prominent public accounting and consulting firm, unveiled its ambitious plan to significantly expand its Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center of Excellence (CoE). This move is aimed at fostering collaborative AI innovation and the development of AI-driven solutions in partnership with its clients. The expansion is set to triple the size of Crowe's AI Lab and AI Engineering team, underscoring the firm's commitment to AI advancement.

The AI CoE will comprise three main components: the AI Lab, AI Engineering, and AI Enablement teams. This expansion will facilitate a synergistic environment for AI innovation, enabling Crowe to progress both its internal AI capabilities and the deployment of AI solutions for its diverse clientele. The initiative is spearheaded by Doug Schrock, who has been appointed to the newly created role of Firmwide AI Managing Principal.

Mark Baer, CEO of Crowe, highlighted the significance of this development, stating, "It is impossible to overstate the transformative power and value AI will bring to businesses and communities. Responsibly harnessing the power of AI to accelerate innovation will drive success for our clients. With the large-scale expansion of our AI CoE, we are moving even further ahead with an AI infrastructure to drive AI adoption for our clients. We are separating the hype from the real-world impact and enabling the strategic and ethical adoption of AI to drive meaningful business outcomes.”

The AI Lab within the CoE is dedicated to aggressively exploring AI use cases, identifying novel AI technologies, and rapidly developing proof-of-concept projects for clients. The AI Engineering team is responsible for creating customised AI solutions tailored to these use cases, employing a dedicated team of engineers and data scientists. Additionally, the AI Enablement team focuses on educating clients' personnel, innovating processes, and deploying AI-driven solutions within their organisations.

Crowe aims to accelerate clients' AI adoption by addressing four key areas: AI data curation and quality, AI governance, AI transformation, and the development of bespoke AI tools and solutions. Schrock, with three decades of experience at Crowe, will lead these efforts. He has a longstanding history of advising clients on transformative technology strategies.

"AI is the most transformative technology development in our lifetimes, with the mainstream emergence of generative AI being just the start on our path to Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)," remarked Schrock. "Right now, the window is open for organisations to beat their competition through innovative and aggressive adoption of AI to cut costs, increase speed, and create disruptive value propositions for their customers. I believe that many organisations watching from the sidelines will find themselves in an unexpected fight for survival."

Schrock added, "Our goal with this increased AI investment is to drive pragmatic, new value creation results for our clients who have always appreciated the measurable results Crowe delivers."
