FREE MOOC on Artificial Intelligence Launched for Healthcare Professionals
London, 1 October 2024 – Healthcare professionals worldwide are invited to participate in a unique educational opportunity offered by Physiopedia. The AI Masterclass for Healthcare Professionals, a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), will run from Monday, 7 October to Friday, 15 November. This free course delves into the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in healthcare.
Interested participants should complete the necessary pre-course activities before the commencement of the course. The following steps have been outlined for a smooth enrolment:
Registration: Those interested must ensure they are registered. If registration has already been completed, no additional action is needed.
Email Notifications: Participants should confirm that they are receiving emails from Physiopedia. Messages from the platform may sometimes be diverted to spam folders, so users need to whitelist emails from @physio-pedia.com. Previous correspondence includes an invitation to register sent on 10 September and pre-course activity details on 30 September.
Course Information: It is crucial for participants to familiarise themselves with the course information and FAQs. This will provide clarity on course content and streamline inquiry management, as the course team will not respond to questions already addressed in the FAQs.
Optimising MOOC Participation: An instructional video outlines five steps to maximise the benefits of the MOOC. These steps will help participants engage more interactively and extract the most value from the course.
Physiopedia Plus Account: The course will be hosted on Physiopedia Plus. Both free trial accounts and full memberships allow access to the course. Participants without an account can create a free trial account, accessible through the Plus app on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Note that full or pro memberships are necessary for app-based course access.
Free Webinars: Weeks 5 and 6 feature free webinars, optional but requiring prior registration. Topics include “AI for Personal Productivity with a Practical Guide to Integrating AI into Your Workflow” on Tuesday, 5 November at 9 am EST (2 pm UK time) and “AI in Health Systems for Understanding the Implications for Professional Practice” on Tuesday, 12 November at 12 pm EST (5 pm UK time). Attendance is on a first-come, first-served basis due to Zoom capacity limitations.
Community Culture: Participants are encouraged to read and agree to the Plus Community Culture, a shared set of beliefs, expectations, and values that foster professional learning and collaboration within the course community.
Discussion Forums: Active participation in discussion forums is highly recommended. This allows participants to practise AI prompt writing and share experiences. Everyone should introduce themselves by logging into their Plus account and posting details about their work or study, AI experience, motives for taking the course, and learning objectives.
Participants working in groups can utilise the Group Study Guide to discuss content in specific work contexts, supplement learning, or overcome language and internet accessibility challenges.
