Irish AI-Driven Startup Wrksense Secures €825,000 Pre-Seed Funding for Global Expansion

Dublin, Ireland – Wrksense, an innovative HR tech startup based in Ireland, has successfully secured €825,000 in Pre-Seed funding. The financial boost aims to support the company’s ambitions for global expansion and further development of its AI-driven platform tailored for recruitment agencies.

The funding round was supported by Enterprise Ireland’s High Potential Start-Up (HPSU) programme. This initiative is designed to support promising Irish enterprises that have the potential to scale operations internationally. Alongside this, a group of strategic angel investors also contributed to the investment, marking a significant step in Wrksense's journey.

Wrksense was co-founded by Andrew Connolly and Ruaidhrí McDonnell. Prior to establishing Wrksense, Connolly was the Managing Director of Morgan McKinley in Canada, while McDonnell brought extensive experience as the former Head of Software Architecture with companies such as Spencer Stuart and eShopworld. Their combined expertise has been crucial in shaping Wrksense's development as a solution for recruitment agencies handling exclusive projects.

The platform specifically caters to recruitment agencies by offering tools designed to simplify project management, bolster reporting capabilities, and improve customer satisfaction. Wrksense’s innovative use of artificial intelligence facilitates efficient scaling, whether an agency is managing a single role or thousands. By integrating with CRM systems, Wrksense's solution allows agencies to modernise their operations, thereby reducing administrative burdens and enhancing client engagement.

Andrew Connolly, CEO and co-founder of Wrksense, highlighted the significance of the development funding: “This funding allows us to scale our global footprint and further enhance our platform’s capabilities. Since our launch in April, we’ve expanded to five countries including Canada, the USA, and the UK, and we’re just getting started.”

Enterprise Ireland views Wrksense's potential positively, as emphasised by Donnchadh Cullinan, Head of ICT HPSU, who commented on the start-up’s forward-thinking approach: “Wrksense is an excellent example of a forward-thinking Irish startup that is using cutting-edge technology to address real challenges in the recruitment sector. Their AI-driven platform has the potential to greatly enhance how recruitment agencies operate and scale, both in Ireland and internationally.”

In pursuit of its mission to drive technological advancement in recruitment, Wrksense is part of the inaugural AI Ecosystem Accelerator Programme. Delivered by NovaUCD in collaboration with CeADAR, Ireland’s National Centre for AI, and funded by the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH), the programme is tailored for startups leading in disruptive AI solutions on a global scale.

Ruaidhrí McDonnell, CTO and co-founder of Wrksense, shared insights on the company’s vision: “Our vision is to provide a best-in-class technology solution that complements the expertise of recruitment consultants and the important role they play. We recognise the opportunity of technology to enhance the critical human element of the journey.”

As Wrksense embarks on this new chapter, its leadership team remains focused on harmonising technology with human expertise, setting a foundation for enhanced recruitment solutions worldwide.
