Oppo has officially launched ColorOS 15, a significant update that promises to enhance the user experience by integrating advanced artificial intelligence features and refining the user interface. This update is built on Android 15 and is set to be available across multiple Oppo and OnePlus devices.
ColorOS 15 introduces a sleek and sophisticated visual design, highlighting dynamic effects, natural light, and shadow elements, alongside refined iconography. The Aurora and Tidal Engines are key components in this update, ensuring smoother and parallel app animations, thus elevating the multitasking experience. Oppo claims these updates will bring an 18% improvement in app responsiveness and a 26% increase in app installation speed, offering a more efficient and fluid user experience.
A standout feature of ColorOS 15 is the Xiaobu assistant, which now boasts enhanced natural language processing (NLP) capabilities. This advancement enables users to interact more naturally with their devices, as the assistant can provide content-aware recommendations like travel packages based on the user's interactions. Additionally, the operating system leverages AI in several office-related applications: the Notes app can now transcribe, format, and summarise text, while the document scanner features summarisation and translation functionalities. The voice recorder has also received an upgrade, allowing it to automatically transcribe and summarise recordings.
Another notable addition is the O+ interconnection app, which facilitates seamless file transfer between devices, including Oppo smartphones and iPhones. This feature simplifies sharing videos, pictures, and documents, enhancing productivity and collaboration across different devices.
The Photos app in ColorOS 15 benefits from AI-powered enhancements, including options for portrait and reflection removal, blur adjustments in portraits, and improvements in image resolution. Furthermore, electronic image stabilization (EIS) is now supported for Live Photos, improving the quality of photos captured on the move.
ColorOS 15 is set to debut on devices such as the Oppo Find X8 series and the OnePlus 13. The rollout will begin in November 2024, first reaching models like the Oppo Find X7 and OnePlus 12, followed by a broader distribution scheduled to continue into 2025.
By December 2024, the update will be available for the Oppo Find N2, Oppo Find X6, and OnePlus 11, including special variants like the OnePlus 11 5G Jupiter Rock Custom Edition and the OnePlus Ace 2 Pro Genshin Impact Paimon Theme Gift Box.
