Paramount+ has unveiled an innovative approach to enhancing its streaming service for family audiences, by introducing new curated collections that employ generative artificial intelligence (AI). The streaming platform has strategically developed these collections to cater specifically to children and their parents, highlighting content that subscribers may not have previously encountered. This initiative aims to enrich the viewing experience, particularly for family-friendly content.
The development of these curated collections stems from customer insights and comprehensive research studies conducted by Paramount+. Engaging in direct communication with both children and parents, the platform has identified the thematic interests that resonate most with families. These themes were instrumental in guiding the selection of featured programming within each collection. The new collections boast a diverse range of themes including Space Exploration, Goofy Stuff, Daring Stunts, Treasure Hunting, Secret Worlds, and Exploring Nature. Each theme is meticulously curated to appeal to the curiosity and adventurous spirit of children.
These kids-first curated collections are accessible across all platforms through the "Older Kids" profiles on Paramount+. These profiles cater to viewers aged between six and 13 years, ensuring that the content displayed aligns with the appropriate viewing standards for this age group. Paramount+ takes care to display only content with suitable ratings such as TV-Y, G, TV-Y7, TV-Y7-FV, TV-G, TV-PG, and PG. This feature allows parents peace of mind by automatically limiting access to age-inappropriate content.
To set up a child’s profile, users simply add a new profile on the platform, input the child’s details, and activate the Kids Mode, selecting the appropriate age range. This straightforward process allows parents to streamline content management and maintain control over their children's viewing preferences.
The platform's extensive library of children's programming showcases iconic characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and the Rugrats. Amongst the highlights of the new children's content is a spooky-themed special, "Kreepaway Kamp." This episode centres on a reunion at Kamp Koral, where SpongeBob attempts to reconnect with friends. However, the gathering soon takes a dark turn as campers mysteriously vanish, with a shadowy presence lurking nearby.
Paramount+ continues to enhance its streaming service, leveraging innovative technological solutions to deliver tailored content that meets the dynamic needs of family audiences. As viewers explore these new curated collections, they are invited into a world of exciting and age-appropriate storytelling.
