Chromia, a prominent Layer-1 relational blockchain platform, has officially announced a new strategic partnership with Chasm Network, an innovator in the field of decentralized artificial intelligence. This collaboration is set to enhance both AI accountability and transparency amidst the increasing use of artificial intelligence in daily applications.
On 24th October, Chasm Network will introduce its native token, Chasm AI ($CAI), on Mantle, an Ethereum Layer-2 rollup. Chromia will contribute as the decentralized database layer, tasked with storing essential AI inference data. Meanwhile, Mantle is designed to support the core underlying infrastructure essential for Chasm's operations.
Central to this endeavour is the Chasm opML Database, a distinctive decentralized application built on Chromia. The system, already active on Chromia’s mainnet, aims to reinforce the verifiability of the data sources influencing AI decision-making processes by maintaining transparent and immutable records of these processes.
The architecture of Chasm Network is structured around two key components: the Scout Layer and Weave. Designed to boost the development of AI applications, the Scout Layer employs a decentralised system where node operators compete to determine the optimal AI models and computational resources. This is achieved through an orchestrator utilising a mixture-of-models strategy, allowing user requests to be routed intelligently. This structure facilitates developers' access to AI capabilities while balancing cost and performance, promoting innovation within the AI sphere by translating artificial intelligence from potential to practical implementation.
KC Thee, co-founder of Chasm Network, praised Chromia's architecture, stating, “Chromia’s relational architecture is uniquely suited to manage Chasm Network’s inference data. This collaboration ensures that AI systems using Chasm’s opML inference mechanisms are accessible, tamper-proof, and decentralised, allowing for scrutiny that prevents bias and manipulation.”
The collaboration with Chasm demonstrates Chromia’s capacity to provide utility layers for ongoing Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) based projects, showcasing its proficiency in handling data-heavy operations within the cryptocurrency environment. This partnership enhances secure and effective data management particularly in complex use cases such as decentralised artificial intelligence.
Chromia brings a range of features to developers and consumers through its modular architecture, including dedicated Dapp chains, tailor-made fee structures, and upgraded digital assets. It aims to reshape the blockchain environment by organising information more intuitively, offering real-time indexed, natively queryable data, thus enabling new Web3 business models and enhancing user experience.
Yeou Jie, Chromia’s Head of Business Development, commented: “This partnership highlights Chromia’s ability to integrate with data-intensive projects across the crypto ecosystem. Our collaboration improves secure and efficient data management for complex use cases, including decentralised AI.”
Looking ahead, the partnership aims to expand on the existing application and explore new enhancements. As Chromia bolsters its mainnet ecosystem with its newly coined Data and AI Ecosystem Fund, Chasm Network prepares for the launch of its native token, poised to further revolutionise the integration of AI within the digital landscape.
