The Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore is set to host the second edition of AIMX Singapore (AIMX SG) from 28 to 30 October 2024. This event forms a significant part of the Singapore Week of Innovation & Technology (SWITCH) 2024, aiming to gather a global audience comprising AI practitioners, business leaders, Chief Technology Officers (CTOs), and various other members of the tech community. The focus will be on showcasing AI innovations implemented in real-world scenarios.

AIMX SG 2024 is anticipated to be a critical meeting point for AI startups, Big Tech companies, investors, and practitioners, including renowned figures and institutions from the AI industry. Among the notable participants are AI Singapore, Amazon Web Services, DHL Express, GDP Venture, Google, Hitachi High-Tech Corporation, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM, ING, NTT Docomo Asia, Philips Electronics, SAP, ST Engineering, Tsing Zhi Capital, and Ubisoft.

Jason Ng, Managing Director of MP Group, highlighted the value of integrating the global AI ecosystem at AIMX SG, drawing reference to a 2023 Deloitte report indicating that over USD5 trillion of economic activity could be impacted by AI. Ng noted Singapore’s leading role in AI research and development, underpinned by robust government initiatives and public-private partnerships, affirming AIMX SG as a crucial platform aligned with Singapore’s ambition to become a global AI hub.

The event’s agenda spans a range of topics designed to appeal to varying expertise levels across the three days. The first day will focus on AI Innovation for the industry, featuring emerging startups and global organisations presenting new AI solutions applicable in various industry sectors. Noteworthy speakers include Shankar Raghavan from Hewlett Packard Enterprise Asia Pacific’s GreenLake Cloud Services, who will elucidate the path from the conceptualisation to the deployment of GenAI in enterprises.

The second day will offer workshops led by leading AI practitioners, which will cover essential topics like data management, model building, and trustworthy AI. These sessions will provide hands-on opportunities for attendees to engage with experts, including a workshop by ST Engineering on applying AI in data-driven decision-making and automation.

A significant segment on Day Two will address adapting AI to Southeast Asia's needs through regional approaches, featuring collaborative discussions with major researchers from institutions such as AIibaba DAMO Academy, AI Singapore, and SEA AI Lab. These discussions will focus on leveraging language models to cater to Southeast Asia’s unique cultural context.

The final day will present Global Perspectives on AI, with sessions that provide insights into regional AI developments and strategies. This part of the conference will include a panel moderated by the Japanese innovation consultant INDEE, exploring Japan’s approach to AI technology across different sectors.
