Heidelberg-based AI startup paretos has successfully secured €8.5 million in a Series A funding round. This financial milestone was spearheaded by Acton Capital, an investment firm known for its backing of thriving companies such as Etsy, Cyberport, and HomeToGo. The investment was also supported by returning investors UVC Partners, LEA Partners, and Interface Capital, alongside the participation of former Vodafone CEO, Hannes Ametsreiter.
Founded by Thorsten Heilig and Fabian Rang, paretos has developed an AI-driven platform designed to enhance decision-making processes for businesses. The platform is already utilised by industry leaders, including HelloFresh, Otto Group, Faller Packaging, ARMEDANGELS, and EDEKA, helping them to manage critical business operations.
With the infusion of new capital, paretos aims to accelerate its growth trajectory. According to Thorsten Heilig, Co-Founder and CEO of paretos, the platform delivers a substantial return on investment (ROI), claiming to achieve over 100% in the first year and to generate significant business impact. Heilig remarked on the capability of paretos’ solution to address the pressing challenges faced by many companies across Germany and Europe like changing consumer demands, complex supply chains, and efficiency pressures.
Fritz Oidtmann, Managing Partner at Acton Capital, praised paretos for cutting through the current hype surrounding AI technologies, citing their Decision Intelligence solution as a proven tool that yields tangible business results, particularly valuable in today's challenging economic landscape.
Gartner, a leading global research and advisory firm, has identified paretos as one of only nine prominent Decision Intelligence providers in Europe. This acknowledgment underscores the company's innovative capabilities in a burgeoning market.
The Decision Intelligence sector is predicted to burgeon significantly. According to MarketsandMarkets, this global market is set to expand annually by 25% until 2030, potentially reaching a value of €50 billion.
