London-based tech company FYLD has secured a significant financial boost with a $10 million investment from NatWest, a major financial institution in the UK. This strategic partnership is set to bolster FYLD's growth as the company continues to expand its operations across various markets, having moved beyond its initial development phase.

FYLD, which was established in 2020, specialises in a fieldwork effectiveness platform designed to serve the infrastructure sector. The platform utilises artificial intelligence to assist field managers in making informed, data-driven decisions aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and processes. FYLD has been instrumental in transforming field workforce management by providing tools that allow for more effective and streamlined operations.

The recent investment from NatWest follows a Series A funding round for FYLD in 2021, which raised £10 million. This round was led by Koru, the venture incubator associated with the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, with additional participation from SGN. Earlier in 2023, there was a further £12 million extension of the funding, once again spearheaded by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, aimed at expanding the platform on a global scale.

Shelley Copsey, the CEO and co-founder of FYLD, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with NatWest, stating that the investment signifies confidence in FYLD's market-leading solutions and innovative approach. Copsey highlighted that the funds would be vital in facilitating the company’s strategic objectives, particularly the planned expansion into the U.S. market. She also mentioned the company's intent to cement its market position and prepare for future growth phases, aiming towards a more proactive and efficient field workforce.

From NatWest's perspective, Simon Foss, Vice President of Venture & Growth Finance, expressed the bank's commitment to supporting innovative and scaling businesses like FYLD. He noted NatWest's goal of establishing enduring partnerships with companies that are at the forefront of economic growth and innovation. Foss highlighted that the funding from NatWest would play a crucial role in aiding the expansion and refinement of FYLD's software, which is designed to enhance productivity, improve safety behaviours, and deliver high-quality outcomes through AI-enhanced workflow solutions.

This significant investment marks a critical juncture for FYLD as it seeks to leverage cutting-edge technology to improve fieldwork operations across the infrastructure sector, both within the UK and internationally. As the company enters this new era, it aims to set new standards for operational processes and workforce efficiency in the industry.
