Career-Fit Set to Revolutionise Recruitment with AI-Driven Psychometric Tool
A Rugby-based company, Career-Fit, is set to launch an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) tool designed to enhance the recruitment process by matching candidates with the most suitable jobs and helping companies hire the right individuals. This ambitious project was developed with the assistance of Business Ready, a support service from the University of Warwick Science Park.
Career-Fit was founded by John Kilvington, an experienced HR professional who saw the potential for psychometric testing early in his career. Kilvington's journey into psychometric testing began in the 1990s when his company was charged with building teams for IT companies in emerging markets across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He identified a gap in reliable methods for assessing the skills and motivations of individuals in these regions, which did not necessarily align with Western labour markets.
Kilvington explained, "I started creating psychometric tests to evaluate an individual’s motivations, independent of their academic qualifications. The goal was to identify where they could achieve the most success in the workplace." His approach focused on assessing qualities such as flexibility, adaptability, resilience, and emotional intelligence, which he found to be strong predictors of career success across diverse sectors.
Over the years, Kilvington refined these tests, and recent advances in AI have significantly enhanced their application. The AI technology developed for Career-Fit can now interpret psychometric results almost instantaneously, making it more accessible to a broader audience. "This was the driving force behind establishing Career-Fit, to make this technology available to more businesses and individuals," Kilvington remarked.
Despite the technological advancements, Kilvington faced challenges in packaging and marketing the tool effectively. This led Career-Fit to be referred to Business Ready via the Coventry and Warwickshire Growth Hub. At Business Ready, Kilvington received guidance from Fiona Molloy, a growth advisor. Molloy stated, "John presented with extensive expertise in HR and psychology but required assistance with marketing and launch strategies."
Molloy and the team at Business Ready have been instrumental in helping Kilvington develop a strategic approach to making Career-Fit's tool appealing and accessible to businesses. "Career-Fit is now on the brink of launching its tool, which we believe will significantly impact businesses in need of quality candidates and individuals seeking rewarding employment," Molloy added.
Business Ready, the service aiding Career-Fit, is provided by the University of Warwick Science Park on behalf of local councils, with part funding from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. This initiative exemplifies how regional support can foster innovation and bring cutting-edge solutions to market.
As Career-Fit prepares to unveil its AI tool, the recruitment landscape is poised for a transformation, promising to streamline the process for both job seekers and employers with the help of advanced psychometric analysis.
