Glassnote Records has entered into a strategic partnership with Hook, an AI-driven social music application, enhancing its library with tracks from burgeoning talents such as Tors, bby, Hayes Warner, and Dylan Cartlidge. This collaboration signifies a notable expansion of Glassnote's offerings on the platform, with plans to add more of their artists soon. Glassnote's existing roster boasts acclaimed names such as Mumford & Sons, Childish Gambino, Phoenix, and CHVRCHES, highlighting the label's influential presence in the music industry.

Hook, which positions itself as an 'ethically-trained AI' application, was launched on iOS last month. The app presents music enthusiasts with an innovative approach to engage with music, transforming passive listening into interactive collaboration. Users can create unique versions of licensed music by altering tempo or genre, akin to the popular remix trends seen on platforms like TikTok.

The partnership brings a fresh revenue model for artists and rights holders. Hook allows them to monetise fan-created derivatives of their music, granting artists an opportunity to profit from the creative interpretations generated on the app and social media sites. This model aims to balance creative freedom with artist compensation and control, a core tenet of Hook's mission.

Daniel Glass, the Founder and President of Glassnote Music, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, underscoring the label's commitment to innovative, forward-thinking strategies. Glass praised Hook for its ability to uphold artistic integrity while leveraging new technology, offering artists a platform that recognises and protects their creative rights.

Hook's app gives artists and rights holders enhanced oversight on how their music is used across digital platforms. By providing data-driven insights into the global performance of remixes, the app seeks to implement a consumption-based model that could enhance artist earnings from fan contributions.

The vision behind Hook is driven by its Founder and CEO, Gaurav Sharma, who previously played a pivotal role as Chief Operating Officer at JioSaavn. Under his leadership, JioSaavn became India’s largest music streaming service, securing global streaming agreements and amassing over 100 million monthly active users before his departure. Sharma's experience in the music streaming industry is seen as a strong foundation for Hook's potential success.

This partnership between Glassnote Records and Hook exemplifies the evolving relationship between music and technology, aiming to foster a more participative and equitable ecosystem for artists and fans alike.
