Thai Airways Elevates Networking Infrastructure with Juniper Networks' AI-Native Solutions
In a strategic move to enhance efficiency and customer experiences, Thai Airways has partnered with Juniper Networks to revolutionise the network infrastructure at its headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. Announced recently, this partnership marks a significant step for the national carrier in its digital transformation efforts, aimed at simplifying operations and providing consistent, high-quality services to its customers and staff.
The new networking solutions feature Juniper Networks' AI-Native Networking Platform, a state-of-the-art technology designed to provide the right data and real-time responses while maintaining secure wired and wireless services. Implementing this advanced infrastructure will greatly assist Thai Airways in achieving its objective of superior operator and end-user experiences.
Previously hindered by sluggish and unreliable Wi-Fi, Thai Airways made history by becoming the first organisation in Thailand to deploy Wi-Fi 6E technology. This was facilitated through the installation of Juniper AP45 access points and Juniper EX Series Ethernet switches, which have together formed a robust core, distribution, and access network.
Tana Kantipan, Team Lead for Network and Cybersecurity at Thai Airways, emphasised the significance of this upgrade. He noted that the improved network system has transformed past networking issues into a source of compliments, thanks to Juniper's comprehensive cloud-native solutions. "With the implementation of Juniper's solutions, we've uplifted user experiences significantly, which is crucial as Thai Airways continues to grow on an international scale," Kantipan remarked.
Central to this deployment is Mist AI™, an artificial intelligence (AI) technology from Juniper that enhances Thai Airways' network management. This AI-driven service provides profound insights into user experiences and offers proactive fault resolutions, potentially reducing network issue complaints by up to 90%. The seamless integration of wired and wireless network management offered by Juniper Mist Wired and Wireless Assurance cloud services supports smooth operations with minimal human oversight.
The enhancement also includes the introduction of the Marvis Virtual Network Assistant, a tool that equips Thai Airways' IT team with a sophisticated conversational interface to detect and resolve network issues efficiently. This has significantly reduced operational time for network management, allowing the airline to focus on enhancing customer service and delivering greater value.
Thai Airways, recognised globally for its excellent hospitality and extensive network, is strategically vital for connecting Asia to the rest of the world. This network overhaul is a critical component of the airline's business growth strategy post-pandemic. With improved technological infrastructure, the airline is poised to meet increasing travel demands while maintaining its esteemed reputation.
Looking forward, Thai Airways plans to expand the implementation of Juniper's network solutions to its major international airports in Thailand, potentially surpassing the scope of the present deployment at its headquarters. This move would further solidify its standing as a distinguished global airline, delivering exceptional service to its diverse range of stakeholders.
This development at Thai Airways comes amidst various technological advancements in the industry, such as Nokia and Lenovo's partnership to drive AI and automation in data centres, and the UK's £22 million investment in smart data initiatives. As the digital landscape evolves, Thai Airways' collaboration with Juniper Networks represents a significant milestone in leveraging AI and automation to enhance operational efficiency and customer experiences.
