Cornerstone and Meta Collaborate to Revolutionise Workplace Learning with AI and XR

In a landmark development in the realm of workforce training and development, Cornerstone has announced a strategic partnership with Meta to introduce AI-powered immersive learning solutions. This initiative was unveiled during Meta Innovation Day and aims to democratise access to cutting-edge learning technologies for enterprises worldwide.

Cornerstone, with its extensive experience spanning 25 years in workforce agility solutions, is poised to leverage Meta's advancements in extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI). The collaboration seeks to integrate Meta’s sophisticated AI innovations and XR technologies into Cornerstone’s offerings, thereby expanding the reach and effectiveness of immersive learning experiences.

Himanshu Palsule, CEO of Cornerstone, highlighted the importance of accessibility in extended reality and artificial intelligence. "Democratised access is key to scaling this technology," stated Palsule, emphasising the role of continuous investment in both hardware and software in reaching critical mass. He added that Cornerstone’s products, such as Immerse and Immerse Companion, are instrumental in scaling content creation centred around personalised and soft skills training, further advanced by generative AI capabilities.

Cornerstone and Meta aim to address the challenges organisations face in bridging workforce readiness gaps, thereby enhancing workforce agility. Cornerstone lauded Meta's approach to openly sharing AI research, which is setting new benchmarks within the industry. Both companies have reiterated their commitment to maintaining ethical and responsible practices in utilising AI technologies.

Attendees at Meta Headquarters can look forward to a showcase event on November 5, where Cornerstone’s Chief Product Officer, Karthik Suri, will deliver live demonstrations of immersive learning experiences. This showcase aims to highlight how AI-powered tools can transform workforce training, with Cornerstone Immerse providing a glimpse into the future of workplace learning.

This partnership comes at a time when Meta continues to increase its investments in the Reality Labs division, despite its financial challenges. During a recent public earnings call, Meta revealed a substantial increase in its quarterly revenue to $40.6 billion, marking a 19 percent year-over-year increase. However, the Reality Labs division, which focuses on XR technologies, reported a significant $4.4 billion operating loss for the quarter.

Meta's dedication to XR is evident through its continued investments in developing VR headsets and smart glasses, despite these persistent financial losses. The division’s expenses have grown by 19 percent over the previous year, underscoring Meta’s commitment to building the necessary infrastructure and investing in a skilled workforce to support its advancements in XR technology.

Susan Li, Meta’s Chief Financial Officer, stated that the company is prioritising strategic expansion in monetisation, infrastructure, Reality Labs, generative AI, and regulatory compliance. This ambitious investment strategy reflects Meta’s long-term vision of pioneering new technological frontiers, even as it absorbs short-term financial setbacks.

The partnership between Cornerstone and Meta represents a new chapter in the evolution of workplace learning, harnessing AI and XR to create more personalised and effective training solutions. With the support of Meta's state-of-the-art platforms, Cornerstone is well-positioned to redefine the landscape of corporate education, fostering a more agile and prepared workforce.
