At the CEATEC 2024 event in Japan, Fujitsu captivated attendees with its "Vision AI Park" booth, which showcased the company's latest advancements in AI technology designed to enhance various aspects of everyday life, from sports and healthcare to cultural preservation. The exhibition was a demonstration of Fujitsu's Human Motion Analytics (HMA) technology, which uses markerless computer vision, AI, and data analytics to understand and improve human movement.

In the Sports Zone, Fujitsu collaborated with the prestigious Fujitsu Red Wave, Japan's top women's basketball team after their W League playoff championship victory in April 2024. This collaboration led to the creation of an interactive basketball experience that employed Fujitsu's HMA technology to analyze shooting forms in real time. Participants could compare their techniques to those of Red Wave athletes and receive immediate feedback aimed at improving their performance. This initiative demonstrates how Fujitsu aims to revolutionise athletic training and support athletes and novices alike in enhancing their skills by providing detailed motion analyses and feedback.

This technology is already in use in gymnastics through the Fujitsu Judging Support System, which has been integrated into International Gymnastics Federation competitions since 2019. It highlights the potential for widespread application in various sporting disciplines.

In the Healthcare Zone, Fujitsu explored the role of AI in enhancing personal well-being. Demonstrations focused on Pilates and yoga, where AI technology assessed participants' movements, providing personalised guidance to improve balance and posture. This new approach could soon be rolled out more widely, with the potential to partner with yoga studios to help individuals achieve better health outcomes through refined movement practices.

Culture was also at the forefront of Fujitsu's showcase, with a unique incorporation of AI into the classical Japanese theatre art form, Noh. Collaborating with the Nohgaku Performers’ Association, Fujitsu's AI allowed participants to visualise their movements in relation to those of seasoned performers. This integration aids novices in understanding the intricate and precise movements that are obscured by the traditional costumes, thus supporting the transmission and preservation of this important cultural practice.

The broader scope of Fujitsu’s vision includes the Kozuchi AI platform, launched in April 2023, which incorporates AI services such as generative AI to assist across seven key areas. The Kozuchi platform, backed by over 30 years of research and numerous use cases, aims to address societal and industrial challenges by streamlining productivity and fostering creativity.

Fujitsu's commitment to leveraging technology to offer tangible improvements in everyday life aligns with its longer-term vision for 2030. As expressed by CEO Takahito Tokita, the goal is to become a leading technology firm that positively impacts society through innovative digital solutions. The Vision AI Park at CEATEC 2024 exemplifies Fujitsu's ongoing endeavour to make AI a trusted companion in various sectors, propelling both economic and societal advancement.
