The upcoming Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) 2024 is set to commence from 6th to 8th November, bringing a spotlight to cutting-edge innovations in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and quantum technology within the financial sector. As the ninth edition of this globally recognised event, SFF 2024 will provide a key platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to collaboratively explore the transformative capabilities of these technologies.

The festival, organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in partnership with the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) and Constellar, alongside the Association of Banks in Singapore, promises to unveil significant advancements in the fields of AI and quantum technology. The festival is designed to address pivotal themes like digital asset adoption, decarbonisation initiatives, cross-border payment efficiencies, and the extension of financial inclusion, which are vital to tackling current global challenges.

Ahead of the main events, an exclusive, invitation-only Insights Forum™ is scheduled from 4th to 5th November. This precursor event comprises the inaugural Layer One Summit, aimed at enhancing public-private dialogues concerning future financial infrastructure, and the Green Circle Climate Forum, which seeks to unite corporate leaders and non-governmental organisations to brainstorm sustainable solutions within carbon markets. The forum will also feature public-private sector roundtables to encourage actionable discussions in strategic areas.

Coinciding with the Insights Forum is the Innovation Lab Crawl held over the same dates. This event will showcase groundbreaking projects and innovations at 16 notable organisations, including the Visa Innovation Centre and the NUS FinTech Lab, offering attendees a firsthand look at the burgeoning FinTech landscape.

During the main conference at SFF 2024, participants can anticipate a robust agenda featuring over 900 experts in more than 400 sessions under six thematic areas. These themes will cover a range of timely topics, including the responsible implementation of AI and quantum technologies, the scalability and regulatory development of digital assets, and next-generation transaction solutions focusing on cross-border payment alignments.

Additional focuses will involve discussions on sustainability innovations within ClimateTech and ESG ratings, alongside sessions on bridging the financial inclusion gap through strategic partnerships and technological applications. The concept of 'Talent of Tomorrow' will have a special emphasis, exploring how Generative AI is shaping career pathways and required skills in financial services.

The exhibition segment will host over 600 exhibitors and 41 distinct international pavilions, arranged across five thematic zones: Technology, Founders and Investors, ESG, Regulation, and Talent. Each zone will present new solutions, fostering discussions that could redefine the future of the financial service landscape.

SFF 2024 will also introduce six certification programmes, curated by Elevandi Education and its partners, designed to enrich participants with advanced learning opportunities. Among these is the "Leadership in the Future of Finance" executive programme that provides comprehensive insights into AI, Digital Assets, and Sustainability in finance.

Sopnendu Mohanty, Chief FinTech Officer at MAS and Group CEO Designate of GFTN, highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships and thoughtfulness in planning the digital future. Paul Lee, Chief Executive (Markets) at Constellar, stressed the critical nature of recognising opportunities and understanding risks in a fast-transforming global financial landscape, indicating a strong presence of AI-based solutions at this year's event.

With its agenda set to explore the vast possibilities and challenges at the crossroads of technology and finance, the Singapore FinTech Festival 2024 aims to lay down a foundation for resilient and inclusive digital economies.
