Victoria Appleby Named UK Chief Executive for T&Pm Agency
In a notable development within the advertising and media industry, Victoria Appleby has been appointed as the UK Chief Executive of T&Pm, a full-service agency. Appleby, who is currently serving as the head of sales at Channel 4, will assume her new role in January 2025. She becomes the first integrated UK CEO of the agency, tasked with spearheading the UK management team.
Appleby brings a wealth of experience to T&Pm, with two decades in advertising and media. Her tenure at Channel 4 spanned three years, during which she played a pivotal role in the sales department. Prior to her position at Channel 4, Appleby served nearly four years as managing partner at EssenceMediacom, further solidifying her expertise in the sector.
T&Pm was formed following the strategic merger of The & Partnership, a creative agency, and MSix & Partners, a media shop, in March of this year. The merger resulted in the establishment of T&Pm as a full-service agency, combining the strengths and capabilities of both businesses to deliver integrated creative and media solutions.
The global management team at T&Pm is led by founder and CEO Johnny Hornby, with key partners including Sarah Golding, Nick Howarth, and Jack Swayne. Appleby will report directly to these global partners as she undertakes her role. Swayne acknowledged Appleby’s “exceptional leadership skills” and her passion for fostering creativity and innovation in the industry. He noted her successful tenure at Channel 4 and her experience within Group M, highlighting her capability in driving impactful results amid a rapidly evolving media landscape.
Appleby’s appointment is timely, aligning with T&Pm’s ambition to enhance its integrated creative and media offerings. This expansion is set to be powered by the adoption of AI technology, further enhancing the agency's capability to fuel brand growth.
Expressing her enthusiasm for the new position, Appleby remarked, “T&Pm’s commitment to combining talent and technology to fuel brand growth is truly inspiring, and I look forward to working with the team to deliver exceptional results for our clients.” She also expressed gratitude towards her former colleagues at Channel 4, stating, “It has been my great privilege to be part of the wonderful team at the iconic broadcaster for the past three years and I wish them every success in the future.”
Appleby’s appointment comes as T&Pm strengthens its leadership team with recent recruitments, including Andy Butters as head of programmatic, Marc Sharp as head of paid social, and Michael Georgoulakos as the UK measurement lead. These strategic appointments underscore T&Pm's commitment to expanding its service offerings and enhancing its position within the industry.
