May 2024 marked another significant incident where Ticketmaster revealed that the personal data of 560 million of its customers had been compromised. This transformation is expected to boost the market to $350 billion by 2027, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC).
IDC’s Vice President of Research, Dave McCarthy, points out that edge computing will play a vital role in AI deployment, a vision materialising with Apple’s recent launch of its Apple Intelligence platform that leverages both AI and edge computing. As cyberattacks proliferate and economic uncertainties grow, edge computing emerges as a feasible, sustainable solution to beefing up corporate cybersecurity.
