Pegasus Airlines Introduces AI-Generated Multilingual Announcements on Select Flights
In a significant technological advancement aimed at enhancing passenger experience, Pegasus Airlines has launched a pioneering multilingual announcement system on its flights. This innovative feature, set to be in full operation from October, caters to Spanish, Arabic, and Russian-speaking countries by providing crucial flight information in the respective local languages after the standard English announcements.
Pegasus Airlines first introduced this cutting-edge system on its new Seville route on 24 September. Passengers on this inaugural flight were welcomed with announcements in Spanish, followed by information about their journey in the local language. This marked the beginning of a more personalised communication approach for the airline's diverse passenger base.
The project, which leverages advanced artificial intelligence technologies, was developed by the Pegasus Innovation Lab. This lab, established last year in Silicon Valley, is dedicated to spearheading new technological innovations within the aviation industry. The system utilises AI for voice cloning, generating multilingual announcements using the cloned voices of Pegasus captains.
These AI-generated announcements provide passengers with a range of essential information, including flight details, weather conditions, destination highlights, the captain’s name, and the flight duration. All this information is updated in real time via AI before take-off, ensuring that passengers receive the most current and relevant details about their journey.
By incorporating this technology, Pegasus Airlines aims to offer a personalised and sophisticated flight experience, particularly for non-English speaking passengers. The system not only enhances communication but also provides a more welcoming atmosphere by addressing passengers in their native languages.
