Brandon Davito, Senior Vice President of Product and Operations at Verkada, highlighted the integral role of Verkada’s platform and its partnerships with technology vendors. He expressed enthusiasm about the strategic investments in artificial intelligence (AI), including real-time alerting via natural language processing and notable improvements in audio and visual quality. "The enhancements will make physical security more proactive and powerful, and our new generation products will streamline the entry experience for employees, contractors, and guests," Davito stated.
New Features and Functionalities
Verkada has made significant advancements in its cloud-based software platform. The newly introduced features are designed to enhance efficiency and security for various organisations:
AI-Powered Alerts: This feature allows customers to create and receive alerts based on natural language queries. For instance, alerts can be set up for scenarios like detecting individuals not wearing safety vests or identifying specific vehicles.
Occupancy Trends Dashboard: Aimed at assisting businesses in understanding space utilisation over different time frames, this dashboard is beneficial for retailers, manufacturers, and educational institutions to make informed decisions regarding staffing, inventory, and energy management.
Mobile Credentials for Access Control: Verkada has expanded its Access Control integration, enabling users to unlock doors quickly using their iPhone or Apple Watch. The mobile credential functionality has also been extended to Android devices.
Enhanced Admin Experience in Verkada Guest: The revamped admin interface offers secure and convenient check-ins. Customised sign-in flows can be created using conditional logic, and frequent visitors can now utilise facial recognition for check-ins.
New Hardware Additions
Verkada remains at the forefront of security with its latest hardware:
Cameras: The new generation of fisheye and 4K PTZ cameras feature larger image sensors and advanced optics powered by the Ambarella CV7x processors, setting industry standards for image quality and analytics capabilities. Additionally, the new mini split camera (CM42-S) caters to spaces requiring discretion.
Intercoms: With more than 4,000 customers making over 100,000 calls daily via Verkada’s intercoms, three new models have been introduced – the compact TD33, the thinner TD53, and the TD63 with a built-in keypad. These models boast improved audio and video quality and include built-in door readers for granting access seamlessly.
