ST Engineering, a prominent player in the urban solutions industry, has secured a major contract from Lusail Real Estate Development Company (LREDC), a subsidiary of the Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company. The contract, valued at over S$60 million, involves the development of an advanced smart city platform intended to propel Lusail City in Qatar towards becoming a fully integrated smart city. This ambitious project is slated to begin in the final quarter of 2024, with completion targeted for 2027.
Lusail City, envisioned as a modern urban environment, is set to benefit from ST Engineering’s state-of-the-art AGIL® Smart City Operating System (OS). This system will serve as the foundational digital framework for the city, facilitating the integration of a variety of smart city solutions and applications. By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics, the AGIL Smart City OS aims to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of operations across Lusail.
The comprehensive implementation of these smart technologies is expected to drive substantial improvements in resource management and operational productivity. By integrating diverse city management systems such as those for lighting, building, and traffic, the platform will offer a unified, bird’s-eye view of city operations.
