These interactive sessions will feature youth activism workshops and discussions led by esteemed guests Shaunelle Curry and Anaïs Maria Maseda from Media Done Responsibly, alongside the Digital Truths Initiative. Freedom to Read Community Day of Action
On October 19, the national Freedom to Read Community Day of Action will be commemorated with innovative watch parties at select LA County Library branches. Designed for teenagers, the event is organised to foster discussions around the pressing issues of censorship and the freedom to read. Participants will have the chance to watch recordings from the recent Heart & Hand Book Talks featuring young adult authors Aminah Mae Safi and Abdi Nazemian.
