Navitas Semiconductor is set to unveil its latest proprietary technology, 'IntelliWeave', at the upcoming IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Expo (ECCE) in Phoenix, Arizona. This annual event, scheduled from October 20th to 24th, serves as a hub for industry professionals and researchers focused on energy conversion technologies.

IntelliWeave is a digital control technology specifically designed to enhance the efficiency of next-generation power supply units (PSUs), which are fundamental in the operation of AI-driven data centres. As the demands on processing power increase due to the growth of artificial intelligence and cloud-based applications, there is an escalating need to improve energy efficiency within data centres. This development arrives as data centre architects and operators seek innovative solutions to manage power consumption more effectively.

Navitas Semiconductor's IntelliWeave aims to address these energy challenges through its advanced digital control that promises optimal system efficiency. This technology boasts features such as precise current sharing, rapid dynamic response, and low phase error, all of which contribute to its robust performance. A distinctive element of IntelliWeave is its dual-loop and dual-feed-forward interleaving control technology, which ensures absolute zero voltage switching (ZVS) across all load ranges, thus enhancing efficiency to the maximum.

The technology further innovates with its digital regulation of Critical Conduction Mode (CRM) interleaving Totem Pole Power Factor Control (PFC). This approach leads to a significant reduction in power losses—estimated at about 30%—compared to the existing Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) alternatives. These advancements have been tested and validated using a 500 kHz GaN-based interleaving 3.2 kW CrM PFC power supply unit, showcasing a peak efficiency rate of 99.3%, even when accounting for EMI filter losses.
