Berlin-based software company Camunda has expanded its range of automation tools with new features designed to streamline process management and eliminate isolated automation systems. Unveiled recently, the enhancements include "out-of-the-box" Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), and AI co-pilot capabilities. These are aimed at enabling organisations to construct comprehensive, end-to-end automation solutions effectively.
Camunda occupies a leadership position in process orchestration and continues to address the issue of fragmented automation landscapes with its latest innovations. Organisations often face challenges due to disparate, task-oriented solutions that create silos and hinder the full potential of automation. The new capabilities introduced by Camunda facilitate the integration of various automation technologies, allowing companies to assemble architectures tailored to their specific needs—whether they involve best-of-breed, blended, or a fully Camunda-driven automation solution.
The company has integrated RPA directly into workflow processes. This integration utilises Camunda's composable architecture to embed both existing and newly developed bots, enhancing the transition of isolated task automation into a unified orchestration. Furthermore, the addition of Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) employs artificial intelligence and machine learning to replicate human error-prone tasks like document classification and information extraction, significantly reducing mistakes and processing time.
Commenting on these developments, Jakob Freund, CEO and Co-Founder of Camunda, stated, "As organisations across the globe lean towards scaling AI and automation, it is crucial they manage their integrated components in a coherent manner. This orchestrated approach is essential to truly capitalise on their investments and maintain a competitive edge. With our flexible, intelligent platform, we aim to assist companies in achieving superior business outcomes through automation."
Camunda's platform further includes an SAP integration feature, which simplifies SAP system transformations and enhances business responsiveness. This integration allows for seamless process management across both SAP and non-SAP systems, fostering greater agility and reducing risks during SAP S/4HANA migrations.
Additionally, Camunda's AI-driven Modeler Co-Pilot increases productivity by supporting IT and business users with a unified modelling language. This advancement is seen as a key component in enabling faster and more effective process modelling.
Looking ahead, Camunda plans to introduce further solutions in the upcoming months, such as iPaaS Integration Flow, Low-code, Intelligent Execution, and Optimization components. These are expected to further empower enterprises in orchestrating and automating their business processes in a modular fashion.
Discussing the future of AI within process automation, Daniel Meyer, Camunda's CTO, noted, "Our composable architecture enables enterprises to leverage AI easily, integrating its potential into their operations. In the near future, autonomous agentic AI systems, functioning with minimal human intervention, will also become integral components of comprehensive automation solutions, akin to how AI agents function today."
With these strategic advancements, Camunda continues to strengthen its position in the automation industry, offering businesses advanced tools for better orchestrating and optimising their processes.
