Dundee to Host AI & Digital Innovation Event at Water’s Edge
The Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce is set to host an engaging event entitled "AI & The Digital Edge" on Thursday, 7th November 2024, from 18:00 to 20:00. The gathering aims to showcase the intersection of artificial intelligence and digital innovation within the business landscape. This noteworthy event will take place at Water's Edge, a recently restored 19th-century building located beside Dundee's Camperdown Dock, known for its sustainable renovations and smart technology integrations.
The headline speaker for the evening, Chris van der Kuyl, is among Scotland’s most prominent entrepreneurs. With a notable career spanning sectors such as technology, media, and gaming, van der Kuyl is especially recognised as the co-founder and chairman of 4J Studios, renowned for developing the global video gaming phenomenon, Minecraft. Throughout his career, he has been involved with a variety of companies, holding chair positions at Puny Astronaut, TVSquared, Broker Insights, Stormcloud Games, and Parsley Box. His influence extends to his roles on the boards of Blippar, Ace Aquatec, and ADV Holdings. Honoured with a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 2020, van der Kuyl brings a wealth of knowledge on entrepreneurship and technological advancements.
Van der Kuyl will address the evolving role of artificial intelligence in business during his talk, focusing on how AI should be seen not as a replacement but as a tool for enhancing human capability and productivity.
