In an ambitious move to consolidate its standing in the rapidly evolving field of artificial intelligence (AI), Ernst & Young (EY) has unveiled the formation of the EY.ai Global AI Advisory Council. This council is designed to provide strategic oversight and recommendations for the deployment and evolution of AI technologies, especially in the context of EY's newly launched AI platform, EY.ai. EY highlighted that the introduction of the council is pivotal to managing the expansive scale of AI utilisation in contemporary business environments and addressing the swift advancements in AI technology.

The newly formed Council is set to operate across three main domains. Firstly, it will direct AI development and deployment across the EY organisation and its affiliates worldwide, sharing insights into the latest technological advancements, breakthroughs, and emerging risks. Secondly, the council is tasked with aiding EY professionals in supporting client transformations, particularly those involving the integration and deployment of AI within organisations. This domain also includes evaluating the broader impact of AI on industry transformations and vertical integrations. Lastly, the Council will endeavour to tackle global challenges through innovative AI applications, addressing issues such as climate change, health and wellness, education, and the digital divide, while simultaneously working to mitigate risks to people and society.

The EY.ai Global AI Advisory Council will be overseen by Raj Sharma, EY's Global Managing Partner of Growth and Innovation, and Gil Forer, EY's Digital and Business Disruption Leader. Raj Sharma underscored the critical importance of the council, stating, "The astonishing pace of change being driven by AI demands that organisations proactively collaborate with a wide variety of AI leaders to stay ahead of the curve and shape their future with confidence."
